The designation was awarded during the Institute’s meetings October 27 in Atlanta. McGuire was among the 200 commercial real estate professionals who earned the designation by passing the CCIM Institute’s Comprehensive Examination, the final element in the designation process.
“As the only CCIM designee in Huntington, WV I’m proud and honored to be able to serve investors in our area and provide them with the knowledge and expertise required to manage and grow their wealth and long-term investments,” McGuire said.
CCIMs are recognized experts in commercial real estate brokerage, leasing, asset management, valuation, and investment analysis. Only about 6% of the estimated 150,000 commercial real estate practitioners nationwide hold the CCIM designation, which reflects not only the caliber of the program, but why it is one of the most coveted and respected designations in the industry.
According to CCIM Institute CCIM candidates must complete a rigorous curriculum that includes “ethics, interest-based negotiation, financial analysis, market analysis, user decision analysis and investment analysis for commercial investment real estate.” The candidates must also submit a portfolio of at least $10 million in transactions to establish their commercial real estate experience. The final step is to complete a comprehensive examination.
The CCIM Institute, which is affiliated with the National Association of REALTORS, awards the CCIM designation to individuals who have successfully completed a process developed to ensure that awardees are proficient in both the theory and application of commercial and investment real estate practices.
